The Doon, Drumadoon Point, Arran, Scotland, UK.

This spectacular columnar formation towers over the water on the West coast of the isle of Arran. An Iron Age fort was built on top of this natural fortress, but there is evidence the site was occupied from the Neolithic period. Surrounded by a beautiful windswept golf course today, the Doon is still imposing and the abrasive volcanic rocks make for enjoyable walk under its great cliffs.
