Many A Calm River Begins As A Turbulent Waterfall
Glen Sannox, Isle of Arran, Scotland.
This outstandingly beautiful location used to be an industrial site. Just to the right of shot were baryte mines that operated from the 1840s for around a hundred years. The white flecks in the rocks you see is the prized barium sulphate, use primarily in oil drilling, but use used at the time to brighten photographic paper.
