Botanic Gardens, Glasgow, Scotland.
John Kibble had a vision. A Victorian entrepreneur of great wealth and eccentricity, Kibble was a keen photographer. His camera, lenses and glass plates were so huge they had to be moved by horse and cart.
Kibble built a "Crystal Art Palace" at his home at Coulport on the shores of Loch Long and began commissioning marble sculptures from Italy and collected plants and from around the world.
Few guests made it to his home, so he sold his glass palace to the city of Glasgow, who established a Botanic Gardens for the people to escape from industry and smog. Kibble's Dream lives on as the gardens and glasshouses are more popular than ever.
