Oppressive orange misty skies over an abandoned byre near Grasmere int he English Lake District.
This was the calm before the big storm. Hurricane Ophelia was bearing down on the British Isles. The storm had gathered up sand from the Sahara, turning the sun red for many in England that day. This made for eerie orange skies at dawn in the Lake District.
The air was thick with smoke, which I only later found out was from fires in Spain and Portugal that were fanned by the storm.
